How to play The Battle Road on Mac

Game summary

The Battle-Road is a vertical scrolling shooter racing arcade game released by Irem in 1984. The game was an early open-ended vehicle combat game that featured branching paths and up to 32 possible routes.[2] The player controls a car that is armed with two different types of guns (frontal and side), and drives for a road full of other dangerous vehicles like cars, motorcycles, trucks, helicopters. There are also other kinds of obstacles on the road. There is more than one path, in the same style used in Outrun.
First released: Feb 1984

Play The Battle Road on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play The Battle Road on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).
