How to play Mega Man Battle Network 3 on Mac

Game summary

Mega Man Battle Network 3 is the third game from the Mega Man Battle Network series, released for Game Boy Advance. It follows Lan Hikari and his NetNavi MegaMan.EXE as they battle the second incarnation of the WWW. A sequel, Mega Man Battle Network 4, was released the following year. Battle Network 3 is the first game in the series to come in two versions. The original Japanese release started as a standalone game, however a second version titled Rockman EXE 3 BLACK was released a few months later. Like later alternate versions, it replaced and introduced exclusive Battle Chips, chip codes, a boss, a form change, and a number of cosmetic changes. Unlike later games however, the in-game shop stock greatly differs, there are exclusive NaviCustomizer parts, and contains one new boss that doesn’t replace a Navi from the original. Despite releasing later, the same bugs from the original can be found in Black.
First released: Dec 2002

Play Mega Man Battle Network 3 on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play Mega Man Battle Network 3 on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).
