Play Mario Party Superstars on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play Mario Party Superstars on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes

Mario Party Superstars is a fantastic game and can be considered the best-of collection of the party series since it features all the maps and 100 mini-games from the previous series entries.

The famous game was developed by NDcube and released in 2021; in addition to having all these features, they've also added five game boards from the first three Mario Party.

What's new? They didn't just paste the features into the new game. It's new and improved since they have updated all these features to look exceptionally modern and aesthetically pleasing.

However, the boards' rules are not necessarily different from their predecessors, so you can still experience the old classic gameplay and nostalgia that comes with it, just with better colors and visuals.

Gameplay

The five boards mentioned above from the previous Mario party are Peach's birthday cake and Yoshi's Tropical island, representing the boards from the Horror Land, first Mario Party, and Space land, representing Mario Party 2 and for Mario Party3; they've added the board, Woody Woods.

The gameplay mechanics from the main mode of Mario Party Superstars features mostly from Mario Party 3's gameplay style. You and the other three players take turns traveling across the maps by rolling a 10-sided die to get to the randomly placed star.

Whoever gets to the star first gets the opportunity to buy that star, and in the end, the player with the most stars wins. You can purchase the stars with 20 coins, which are obtained from winning mini-games or arriving at unique places across the board.

The characters in Mario Party Superstars are also sped up, so they move faster across the board, and you can even speed up the board events with the push of a button. You can play locally with friends or online, and all modes feature online multiplayer gaming.
