Play Life is Strange Remastered Collection on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play Life is Strange Remastered Collection on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes

Life is strange was released in 2015 and immediately gained massive success with praises from players and gaming critics alike. Published by Square Enix, the game features a compelling storyline intricately laid out in exciting episodes that offer immersion, depth, and entertainment to players.

The remastered collection packs the original Life is Strange, and Life is Strange: Before the storm expansion into one edition that revamps the entire mechanics and visuals. Players can revisit these titles in 2022 with appropriate 4K character models. Moreover, the remastered collection uses Unreal Engine 4 to update the game mechanics and utilizes motion-captured facial animations to breathe new life into the characters.

Plot:

Life is Strange follows the story of Maxine Caulfield (Max), a high school senior gifted with the ability to rewind time. Max's life takes a bizarre turn when she returns to her seaside town of Arcadia Bay, where she encounters her childhood friend Chloe Price, whose friend Rachel Amber recently went missing. The two embark on a quest to uncover the truth behind her disappearance while trying to deal with Max's visions of a gigantic cyclone that ultimately dooms the town.

Meanwhile, Before the Storm explores the past as we are taken three years before the original game's events. It takes us on a personal journey, capturing the bond between Max and Chloe.

Gameplay

The game features beautiful graphics that perfectly capture the narrative's overall tone and mood, giving it a cinematic feel. The character designs are dramatically lifelike, and the third-person, over-the-shoulder mechanics are heavily improved in the remastered version, making gameplay incredibly smooth.

The game is littered with mysterious riddles, challenging puzzles, and emotional moments that make a lasting impression on the players. The key element of this nuanced title is the ability to replay episodes and make different choices that alter the story branches.
