How to play Inferno on Mac

Game summary

You awaken to cries of agony all around you. As your vision recovers, you find yourself in a place only true evil could call home. Fire lashes out of the floor. Spikes dripping with the blood of countless victims line the walls. Bones litter the floor, and tiny beasts you've never seen pick at the remaining flesh. You hear the clanging of armor, the grinding of bones, and the maniacal screams of death approaching. As you pull yourself to your feet, you notice that you're standing next to a dismembered corpse. His organs are spewed all over the surrounding area. You don't know where you are, or how you got here, but you do know two things: You're getting out, and you aren't going to end up like him. Destroy the demons, vanquish the undead, and escape the inferno... or become another bloodstain on the wall. Inferno is an exciting arcade/adventure that will test your reflexes, your mind and your courage. Both the enemies and the levels themselves will become part of your worst nightmares. The game uses the ASCII 8 mapper.

Play Inferno on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play Inferno on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

Inferno installation steps for Mac

Step 1
Go to Parallels.com and download the latest version of the software.
Step 2
Follow the installation process and make sure you allow Parallels in your Mac’s security preferences (it will prompt you to do so).
Step 3
When prompted, download and install Windows 10. The download is around 5.7GB. Make sure you give it all the permissions that it asks for.
Step 4
Once Windows is done installing, you are ready to go. All that’s left to do is install Inferno like you would on any PC.
