How to play WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain on Mac
Game summary
Play WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)
The easiest way to play WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes
WWE Smackdown Here Comes The Pain is one of the best wrestling games developed by Yuke’s and THQ. Most wrestling games before Here Comes The Pain had slow gameplay, but this one imitates the real wrestling moves quite well.
It was a surprise for many to experience a wrestling game with good speed and hard-hitting attacks. You can feel the impact through the imagery when you use simple moves like suplexes and spears. It feels more explosive if you use power moves like the tombstone or sweet chin music.
The gameplay suits all types of wrestlers, ranging from high flyers to muscular brutes.
Mode
This game allows you to create your own wrestler and use them in the Season Mode. You have the option to choose whether you want to play the Smackdown or Raw version.
However, there is a twist in Here Comes The Pain when choosing a wrestler. If you are playing the Raw version but want to bring in a wrestler from Smackdown, you can transfer the wrestler.
The Season Mode starts with your wrestler in an empty ring, announcing how you want to make a career out of wrestling and reach the top. This scene adds a pinch of drama to the game and sets the stage for upcoming events.
Gameplay
You will be welcomed by either Smackdown’s and Raw’s general managers, depending on which show you choose. After a year of competing for PPVs and your preferred TV show, you have to hire a manager.
The choice of a manager depends on who the game offers to you. Eric Bischoff was my wrestler’s manager in the game. The manager appears only at the start of your wrestling career and at the end of Wrestlemania to congratulate you.
As you go on winning wrestling matches, you will earn more points that improve your stats. You will also get to unlock different cool gear and other moves by earning Raw dollars in the game.
