How to play Vampire Castle on Mac
Game summary
Made by the same group who developed Zillion Beats and PriZhm (RezetiA), Vampire Castle is an odd little sidescrolling shooter with light RPG elements. The decently designed levels and nicely designed enemies (having a sort of pre-rendered look like characters from Donkey Kong Country, etc.) help make the game more appealing, and it's fairly challenging too. The game is rather cryptic in terms of where to go and what to do, but you can't usually stray too far off the beaten path. Heck, the game is so cryptic that it doesn't allude to when it was made, though it was some time in 2007 (the .exe says Ver 1.50 was modified during February of 2007).
Play Vampire Castle on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)
The easiest way to play Vampire Castle on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).
