Game summary
Play Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)
The easiest way to play Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the latest in a long line of Ghost Recon games that took the world by storm in the early 2000s. Released in 2019 for Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, Breakpoint becomes the 11th installment in the franchise. It’s the sequel to Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Like the prequel, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is also an open world. The game is played in a third-person view and is mainly focused on stealth and combat. Like its predecessor, the game also received mixed reviews from both critics and fans. But the game improves a lot of the mechanics from the previous installment.
Plot
The plot of the game continues its storyline from Wildlands. In Breakpoint, you play Anthony \"Nomad\" Perryman, the Lieutenant Colonel. Nomad is a U.S. Special Operation Forces operative who is sent to Auroa, an island in the Pacific Ocean. In Auroa, he is tasked with investigating a private military called Skell Technologies.
The events of the game take place three years into the future but after six years after the events of the first game. The game takes place in Auroa because Skell Technologies purchased the whole island for their private business. However, the government is skeptical about the whole matter and decides to spy on them via operatives like Nomad.
Gameplay
Like previous games of the Ghost Recon series, Breakpoint is also heavily focused on tactical gameplay. But unlike most of the games in the past, Breakpoint is an open world. Ubisoft has always been good at open-world design, and you can still see it in Breakpoint. The game world allows the player to use mechanics based on the surroundings.
There is a class system present in the game as well. You can pick your character class to suit your style of play. But don't worry, it's not a commitment; you can switch classes in between gameplay. There are tons of ways to approach your objectives. The player can also use other mechanics, such as drones, to their advantage. Dialogue choices are also part of the game.
