Play Steel Division 2 on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)
The easiest way to play Steel Division 2 on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes
Steel Division 2 is a strategy game based on events of World War 2 developed and published by the popular Eugen Systems. This game aims to shine a light on all the minute details of war.
It is a continuation of the original game Steel Division Normandy 44. Most of the gameplay is similar to the original version, with features like massive tactical battles along miles of battlegrounds.
The game’s core is still intact, like the weaponry, military, air support, etc., with improved visuals.
The main difference in Steel Division 2 is the importance given to the single-player battles. You can experience this change in the Army General Mode, where the battle is divided into four mini-campaigns near Minsk.
Plot
Steel Division 2 is based on the war between Russia and Germany in 1944. The Russians set up an operation against the Nazis to push them back from the Belarussian frontline.
This operation was named Operation Bagration, and the Russians planned it just when the Germans were busy fighting in Operation Overlord. This strategy weakened the Germans as they fought on both sides of the frontlines.
In this game, you will play the role of a general in the single-player mode and a colonel in the multiplayer mode.
Gameplay
Steel Division 2 features 18 new divisions in the base game, and you get two bonus divisions if you pre-order a special pack. If you own the original game, you will have an advantage of four divisions from the first game.
In the Army General Mode, you will experience a wholly featured war game. There is no way to tell where you will end up fighting, as it depends entirely on the battlefields you land in.
First-time gamers will find this game confusing on their first few tries, but once you get the hang of it, you will love the tactical battles and how you set up your armies.
