The easiest way to play Ski Racing 2006 - Featuring Hermann Maier on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes
Who doesn’t love a good adventure-sports video game, right? The Ski Racking 2006, Featuring Hermann Maier, is a ski-racing game that tests your skills while racing in different modes.
It was developed by Coldwood Interactive AB and published by JoWooD for MS Windows, PS, and Xbox. The graphics in this game is excellent for a game released in late 2005. Though the game might only be about skiing down mountains, there is more to it than meets the eye.
This game is an advanced version of the previous game, Ski Racing 2005. The 2006 version has all the features of the previous version, but there is a new addition called the World Cup Mode.
Plot
This game has various modes where you can battle against the top pros. The pros are legends in the skiing world in real life.
The game includes about 15 skiing stars, with whom you have to compete against for the Crystal Goblet.
Gameplay
The object of this game is to win enough experience points and try to beat the other players’ records. The other players are the 15 skiing stars integrated into this game by the developers.
You need to earn skill points that will be distributed to your collection of skills. These skills include explosiveness, jumping, speed, and edging. Your skill level will increase as you earn more and more skill points.
For example, after reaching 50 experience points, your explosiveness will increase by a bar. Similarly, you need to reach 54 experience points to be given your next skill point.
The World Cup mode has a calendar detailing the next challenge’s dates. Your standings in each event will be updated after you save the game on reaching the finish line.
As you drop from the top of the snowy hill, you will be judged on your speed, the maneuvers you use, your jumping style, etc. All that will add up to your ranking after finishing the course.
