Plot
Rune Factory 4 Special revolves around a character on the way to a place, bearing gifts for their god. On the way, the character meets with a situation that will change the course of the game.
A group of castaway soldiers attacks the player’s airship, and in the process, the character obtains a head injury. The head injury leads to the player losing their memory, similar to other versions of the Rune series.
The player gets lost and lands in a town called Selphia, where the townspeople mistake you for a royal family member. You take on this role in the game and try to build trust with the locals while doing a lot of farming work.
In this process, you go around town and find that there have been strange cases of monsters turning into men. You help the villagers fight off these monsters in the game while farming to make money.
Gameplay
This game allows the player to choose their gender before it starts. In the game, you wake up, water the crops, take care of the cattle, and interact with the villagers of Selphia on your way to work.
You also go on exploring dungeons, where you face off against evil monsters. This requires you to have good body armor and medical kits. You also get to take two people to fight alongside you when you go to the dungeons.
