How to play Repton 2 on Mac

The sequel to the hugely popular Repton, this game, while following the same basic 'Boulderdash' puzzle style gameplay as the original, added a few new features to freshen things up: meteors, which would fall from the sky and kill upon contact, skulls, static objects that would kill the player if he was careless enough to walk into it, and the fast-moving spirits which would journey around the map hugging walls and objects and veering to any left-angles they came across. Rather than simply being avoided, spirits had to be guided into entering cages where they would transform into diamonds. Additionally, where the first game consisted of 12 static levels, with a password being used to access any later levels once completed - thus in effect being the save game mechanism, Repton 2 consisted of 16 maps connected by single-use transporters that would go between maps or unreachable parts of the same map. In order to actually complete the game, the player had to collect all 4744 earth sections, all 1634 diamonds, kill all 18 monsters, use each one of the 64 transporters, and complete a 42 piece jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle pieces were spread across all 16 maps and the final piece could only be collected, back on the first map, once all of the above had been completed. The jigsaw spelled out' 'REPTON 2 IS ENDED'. In order to promote the game there was a competition held: The first 100 users who sent in a photograph of the screen with the completed jigsaw and a congratulatory message would receive a t-shirt, with one drawn winner receiving £200.
