Play NieR: Automata on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play NieR: Automata on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes

This Japanese action-slasher spectacle features loads of exhilarating and fast-paced combat, exciting world spaces, interesting character designs, and a deeply captivating story that will get you addicted. Nier Automata comes from Platinum games, the ingenious studio that brought us gems like Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising Revegeance.

Nier Automata is a uniquely thrilling experience that promises plenty of sword-slashing, spear-stabbing, and gun-blasting action. The game also brings exciting roleplay elements like side-quests and open-world explorations that keep things interesting. This sequel edition of the original game, Nier, comes with impressive awards and a massive fan base who are loyal to the franchise.

Plot

Nier Automata portrays a futuristic world where a terrible war breaks out between humanity and a race of evil robots. Unfortunately for us, humanity loses the conflict and is driven away from Earth. Not having much choice, the forces of humanity take up residence on the Moon, where they come up with a new way to defeat their robot oppressors.

You play as 2B, a powerful human-made female android who is on a mission to battle the evil robots named YoRHa. Human-made androids, such as 2B, lack the emotional aspects of a living being and are, therefore, much better suited, mentally and physically, to fight the robot army. What follows is a string of bullet-blasting, sword-fighting action as you explore the desolate landscape and hunt down the evil robot army one by one.

Gameplay

Nier Automata features some of the most exciting combat mechanics we have ever seen. The action is speedy, exhilarating, and lethal, allowing you to carry out a skillful display of swordsmanship and unlimited gun-swinging. Cutting down hoards of robot enemies and filling them with bullets never gets boring.

The graphics and animations superbly complement the thrilling action sequences and make the gameplay much smoother. The storyline is compelling, and the impressive chip system lets you tweak various aspects of the game resulting in multiple distinct experiences that range from realistic to action-movie-like.

Keywords: Sniper Ghost Warrior Trilogy Review

Article

The Sniper Ghost Warrior trilogy is one of the most iconic franchises in the third-person military shooter game genre. The series is brought to us by CI Games and Underdog Studio and has taken up somewhat of a cult status amongst its fan base.

Explore the deadly world of elite snipers as they trudge through tropical jungles, empty deserts, and desolate landscapes while battling hordes of enemies in a series of lethal missions that result in countless dead bodies. Overall, it's a great third-person shooter game that's almost on the level of titles such as Metal Gear Solid.

Plot

The Sniper Ghost franchise lets you take the roles of several elite snipers in a string of deadly missions spanning all across the world. The original Sniper Ghost Warrior pits you against the army of an evil dictator in a fictitious Latin American Country. Your job is to help the local Isla Trueno rebels who are fighting against their oppressors in order to retake their country.

In part 2, players take the role of U.S. Marine Captain Cole Anderson, alongside agent Diaz, as they embark on a deadly mission in the Philippines. The game will have you battling deadly mercenaries as you attempt to blow up an old Russian radar post. Part 3 of Sniper Ghost Warrior puts you in the shoes of U.S marine captain Jonathan-Jon-Noth, who is on a mission to prevent civil war in Georgia.

Gameplay

Sniper Ghost Warrior thrills players with its realistic gameplay, smooth mechanics, and impressive AI. This is one of those shooter games that forces you to use stealth tactics and develop tactical strategies to dispose of your enemies. No unrealistic elements like slow-motion gun blasting sequences or overpowered aiming aids that give you the upper hand.

You will spend most of your time crawling in the shadows, perpetually away from the enemy's sights, as you stalk your next victim for the kill. The realistic combat mechanics go a long way and makes for an interesting adventure. Overall, Sniper Ghost Warrior presents plenty of brutal sniping action that will blow your mind. Play it in extreme difficulty mode for the best experience!
