Play Master of Magic on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)
The easiest way to play Master of Magic on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes
Master of Magic 2 is a complete remake of the classic medieval fantasy game from 1994. The turn-based strategy and RPG game feature a multitude of playable wizards and exciting races to command. Orcs, Beastmen, Elves, Ant-men, yes, you heard that right, Ant-men; are only some of the incredible races you'll find here.
Fans of the series were thrilled to see the new teaser for the game last year. It recreated the original game's trailer with better artwork and animation quality. The one-minute trailer gave long-time fans a feeling of nostalgia, increasing their excitement for the 2022 remake.
Plot:
In Master of Magic 2, players get to choose one of the 14 powerful wizards and compete for dominance in the twin worlds of Arcanus and Myrror. Each wizard comes with a unique set of skills and a grand mastery of the arcane arts.
Players make their own choices regarding which school of magic to follow and what race to command. Armies will be raised, powerful spells will be mastered, and new territories will be conquered!
Gameplay:
This turn-based strategy game requires patience, cunning, and the ability to strike when necessary. Players must understand their units and those of the opponent and use this knowledge to win battles. If that doesn't work, there's always the power of the arcane arts.
Master of Magic 2 makes several improvements from the first game and introduces a hexagonal-based map rather than the original square system. The graphics have also greatly improved, giving a fresh look to the 1994 classic. There are also some major improvements made to the AI and gameplay, which now has auto-resolve for combat situations. MoM 2 will bring a smile to fans or anyone who loves traditional turn-based strategy games.
