Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is a sports game with the official license of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and a crossover franchise from the Mario and the Sonic universe similar to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. It takes place at the Vancouver Winter Olympics of 2010. Like the previous game, the 27 events are presented as motion-based mini-games. Aside from the main events there are a series of Dream Events that have enhanced features and visuals. Some of the events can optionally be played using the balance board peripheral. Events include for instance skiing, snowboarding, bobsleigh, ice hockey, figure skating and more. The games can be played individually or in a festival mode that spans 17 days.

The easiest way to play Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Step 1
Go to Parallels.com and download the latest version of the software.
Step 2
Follow the installation process and make sure you allow Parallels in your Mac’s security preferences (it will prompt you to do so).
Step 3
When prompted, download and install Windows 10. The download is around 5.7GB. Make sure you give it all the permissions that it asks for.
Step 4
Once Windows is done installing, you are ready to go. All that’s left to do is install Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games like you would on any PC.
