How to play Kyonshies 2 on Mac

Game summary

A Famicom adventure game developed by Taito and based on an obscure Japanese movie of the same name. Kyonshiizu is the Japanese name for Jiang Shi, the Chinese hopping vampire. Kyonshis 2 is an action adventure game by Taito and is based on the movie in the same name, which in turn was a sequel to a movie known in the west as Mr. Vampire. The game itself does not have a predecessor: while Phantom Fighter is based on the previous movie in the series, the game came after this one and is unrelated. The game plays like a graphical adventure game with menu commands, a popular Famicom genre at the time, with additional action sequences. The player must walk around town hunting for clues about the roaming Jiang Shi (Kyonshi) while occasionally fighting said creatures and other enemies.
First released: Oct 1987

Play Kyonshies 2 on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play Kyonshies 2 on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).
