Play Final Fantasy VII Remake on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play Final Fantasy VII Remake on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes

If you’ve ever played the original Final Fantasy VII, then this remake is one you shouldn’t skip out on. The Final Fantasy VII Remake was developed and published by Square Enix and is the first of the planned trilogy that will base upon the original.

Like in the original, you take control of the mercenary Cloud Strife as you dive into the city of Midgar. With improved graphics, gameplay, and narrative, you will get to experience a completely new Final Fantasy VII.

Plot And Setting

De facto Shinra Corporation is in charge because they developed and maintained the reactors that harvested Maka. An organization of \"eco-terrorists\" by the name of Avalanche intends to put an end to Shinra's aspirations by destroying the entire operation because it turns out that using the planet's essential energy as fuel isn't the smartest decision in the long term.

The insurgents employ protagonist Cloud Strife, a former Shinra elite who has gone rogue, to aid them in fighting the power; this is how your narrative starts.

In addition to enhancing the original characters, this remake includes many brand-new ones, each with a unique past. They generally have personalities that are distinctive and extraordinary enough to avoid feeling generic, and they bring enough intrigue and substance to the plot.

Gameplay And World Building

The levels will be primarily linear until late in the game, with just a few side regions to explore for treasure and a few \"open\" portions that serve as hiding places for NPCs that provide side quests. Later, when fast travel between different sectors is made possible, you can complete any outstanding objectives and accurately investigate each location at your leisure.

Unfortunately, there aren't many mysteries to be discovered. Vendors, who may be found in various locations as machines or real humans, can sell you new weapons, uncommon accessories, Materia, and occasionally will also give you missions and minigames to do in order to gain baubles or other items that cannot be acquired in any other manner.

Final Fantasy VII Remake does live up to the original, which is a classic for gamers all over the world. And with the series set to continue for two more games, we can only expect more with excitement.
