Play Code Vein on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)

The easiest way to play Code Vein on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.

Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.

Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

Code Vein installation steps for Mac

Step 1
Go to Parallels.com and download the latest version of the software.
Step 2
Follow the installation process and make sure you allow Parallels in your Mac’s security preferences (it will prompt you to do so).
Step 3
When prompted, download and install Windows 10. The download is around 5.7GB. Make sure you give it all the permissions that it asks for.
Step 4
Once Windows is done installing, you are ready to go. All that’s left to do is install Code Vein like you would on any PC.

🕹 Editor's notes

Released in 2019, Bandai Namco Entertainment's action role-playing (RPG) game Code Vein has been the talk of the show to date. Players worldwide have coined this game as the perfect alternative for someone who hasn't played dark souls, but what makes it stand out from its inspiration?

Due to its similarities, fans have coined it \"Anime Souls\" since it branches out from the regular dark medieval setting of dark souls into a unique post-apocalyptic dystopian anime horror setting or atmosphere.

Plot

The storyline of Code Vein, as we mentioned before, is based on a mysterious and dark disaster, referred to as the \"Thorns of judgment,\" that pierced the earth's crust and brought the world into chaos, destroying humanity and everything they have worked for.

At the center of it all is a hidden society of Revenants (your custom characters) called Vein, cursed with magic powers called gifts in exchange for the memories of each character and an insatiable thirst for blood.

The anime inspiration of the game can be seen throughout since it has a lot of stories to cover up, and you team up with an AI ally to save the world and regain your memories while not giving in to your hunger.

Game play

Code Vein lets you roam around exploring the city ruins or the labyrinthine caverns while hacking and slashing the Lost (enemies), unfolding the dark mysteries as you go through quests.

Exploration is rewarded with weapons, vestiges, blood veins, and items, and you participate in combats, with each fighter having unique skills or gifts.

  • You can customize your characters from a whole range of customizations.
  • You can change your blood code anytime.
