How to play Black Box Challenge on Mac
Game summary
A meta NES RPG where you play as an aspiring retro game collector trying to collect all black box NES games. With every game you collect you get to play a mini-game version of the title to earn power-ups to help out with the main game.
A version of the game was also released to promote release of Jeffrey Wittenhagen's book "Twisted Realities: Black Box Challenge" under the name "Jeffrey Wittenhagen's Black Box Challenge". Though the only difference to the game is the title screen.
First released: Nov 2017
Play Black Box Challenge on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)
The easiest way to play Black Box Challenge on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).
