Game summary
Play Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered on Mac with Parallels (virtualized)
The easiest way to play Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered on a Mac is through Parallels, which allows you to virtualize a Windows machine on Macs. The setup is very easy and it works for Apple Silicon Macs as well as for older Intel-based Macs.
Parallels supports the latest version of DirectX and OpenGL, allowing you to play the latest PC games on any Mac. The latest version of DirectX is up to 20% faster.
Our favorite feature of Parallels Desktop is that when you turn off your virtual machine, all the unused disk space gets returned to your main OS, thus minimizing resource waste (which used to be a problem with virtualization).

🕹 Editor's notes
Asterix and Obelix XXL Romastered is an action/adventure game remastered, as it was not a hit the first time around. You can set the difficulty level according to your will, from easy to hardest.
In this game, you usually beat up enemies, for which you must do a lot of button-pressing. This game does not require much planning or strategies on how to attack the enemies.
Most of your actions are pressing the buttons repeatedly until the enemies are wiped out. There will be stages where you have to perform side quests like pulling rocks or gathering helmets.
Plot
The game’s plot is based on the Asterix and Obelix comic stories. They go to war against the Romans who have captured their Gaul nation.
The scene is set in the Gaul country around 50 B.C. when they are ruled by the Romans, except for a small village. The villagers were not worried about whatever was happening on the outside until tragedy fell upon their village.
When Asterix and Obelix were out one day, the Romans came and destroyed their village, leaving everything in flames. On returning, the two Gauls saw the state of their village and went in search of the villagers who the Roman soldiers had taken.
Gameplay
The game’s theme is almost similar to the original version of Asterix and Obelix XXL Romastered. The gameplay is simple, and it doesn’t take an experienced gamer to play this game.
You will spend most of your time continuously pushing the attack button in this game. You keep on repeating this action until you win. The game does not need any critical skills or knowledge.
However, one exciting aspect of this game is that Asterix and Obelix have different characteristics when it comes to fighting. Since Asterix is smaller and shorter than Obelix, he can use his agility to land short and quick punches. On the other hand, Obelix uses his mighty arms to catch hold of Romans and swing them around.
